Bonita Springs, Weather & Water

Bonita Springs sits between the Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Bonita Springs is a true waterfront community as it not only has the Gulf and the Bay nearby, it also has the Imperial River flowing through its downtown district. Bonita Springs is Florida’s northernmost city that still has a tropical climate, meaning the average January temperature is about 65°F.

Things to Do and Places to See

The beach is the reason so many people choose to live in Bonita Springs, and the city does not disappoint. Bonita Springs has 10 public beaches from which to choose, many of them are critically acclaimed. Once you’ve got your fill of sand and surf you can explore the multitude of other waterfront activities like jet skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, fishing, and paddle boarding - just to name a few.

Bonita Beach Park, a 2.5 acre beachfront park, boasts a swimming area and a beautiful boardwalk, complete with gazebo and picnic areas. Bonita Beach is on a barrier island called Little Hickory Island between the Estero Bay and the Gulf. Another Bonita Springs waterfront favorite is Bonita Beach Preserve Park which has 342 acres of natural, untouched land; it is one of the last vestiges of undeveloped beaches in Florida. The Everglades Wonder Gardens, Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs, and the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track are just a few other local favorites.

Dining, Shopping, and Outdoor Activities

“Small Town Charm, Big Bright Future” is the motto of this 40,000+ person community, and although Bonita Springs has always been associated with golfing, like many cities in Florida, it has a myriad of other amenities that make living, working, and playing in this waterfront community such a remarkable, luxury lifestyle.

Coconut Point Mall, Miromar Outlets, The Promenade, and The Miromar Design Center are just a few of the outdoor malls available to residents and visitors. These exceptional locations provide specialty boutiques, restaurants, fine dining, and theaters.

An evening out on Bonita Springs is filled with exquisite dining, nightlife, clubs, tropical drinks, and live music. A large majority of the restaurants have waterfront seating and some of the best cuisine to be offered - seafood, steaks, and world-class desserts.
